I set up a 20 gallon tank it has egg crates and crumpled up newspaper for them to hide in. And I have the top to a chinese food container in there filled with dirt from outside. I have a 100 watt light bulb for heat. They have been in there for 4 days, but have not laid any eggs. I have been throwing in some cooked squash and wet cat food. I AM SO FRUSTATED!!!
Get better soil. Regular old soil from the outside may be to hard and compact to lay eggs in. I heard a mixture of peat moss and eco earth makes a great soil for crickets to lay their eggs in. Do you have adult males & females in the enclosure? It also might take a while for the crickets to start breeding. Google up some cricket breeding guides and see what you can learn from there.
