so I have a baby beardie eating well and active he has at some greens I have put in his cage but not so much anymore,i did put some carrots in my cricket keeper and noticed they were kinda orange full of carrots lol I have put greens in there as well and they eat it up my question is can he get the vitmins he needs from the veggies through the crickets? is it safe? or does he not get any of the nutrional value?
also whats a decent anount if crickets a day? im giving him about 10 a day ya I know do the see how much he eats in 15mins but im not bringing him up to be a breeder or to plump him up asap just want him to have a comfortable life.
Hi there...yes, feeding the cricks is called " gutloading ", meaning that their " gut " is full of good food , maximizing their nutritional value. So good job + keep it up ! As for the amount of cricks to feed him, do so 2-3 X daily, all he wants of little cricks that are no longer than the space between his eyes. That can be a huge amount of bugs, but a good number is 30 - 60 a day. Once he's much ;larger he can eat much bigger prey items , and fewer of them.

It doesn't matter if you're bringing him up to be a breeder or not. He needs to be able to eat as much as he wants within a 15 minute time period. If not, then you are in essence STARVING him. They need as much protein as they can get while they're growing, it helps them to MATURE.
