While cleaning my holding tank where I keep crickets for my Pedro, I notice small larvae crawling around. Almost looked to be on the order of maggots. But I believe these to be larvae of some sort. I have never seen these before and I'm curious as to what sort of health indicator these are in regards to feeding them to my beardie or tossing this batch of crickets out. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
They sound like gnat maggots. I would clean the cage and limit the veggies you offer. Moisture brings them out. I myself have a gnat problem and its a huge headache!
I did a thorough cleaning of this cricket tank. The cricket food I use are 'orange cubes, powdered beardie pellets, and a small corner of a paper towel soaked with water in a small plastic cap(top of milk jug container). So, if these are in fact gnat maggots, are these crickets safe to use as feeders for my beardie.
