So our new guy is defiantly a male. We took Bindy out to run around and as soon as he caught site of her he started going crazy, running at the glass, black bearing and head bobbing. Im worried that this behavior, as it might stress Bindy out. Is there any advice some of you owners have that have multiple beardies? we covered his cage with a blanket and we have a barrier between the cages so the cant see each other. I just dont want either of them getting stressed out. Thanks for any answers!
I have covers for all my male tanks, I have 4 males and one female, she actually doesn't get stressed out over their reaction to her, natural dragon behavior. She just kind of sits there and looks at them like..."Okay and?" lol. To make my tank cover I used the hook side of Velcro and an extra piece of reptile carpet. 4 squares of Velcro, one for each corner is all you need, if you want to open the tank back up just pull the carpet off the Velcro. But, this is me and I love Velcro lol, I have found many used for it for my enclosures.
When a male doesn't calm down after a few minutes, I simply put on the block and he will calm down after a minute of so. Works like a charm.
Figment has been kinda crazy for the last month. While they were in their glass tanks I put paper up so they couldn't see each other and that seemed to calm them down. I moved them into the stackable viv and the problem is even better! I thought it was resolved before, but since Figment got into his new home his colors have just lightened up to something I never suspected from him.
He is so much happier now that they can't see each other at all. I don't know what your home is like, but if they can be truly invisible to each other, it's better.
