my dragon is almost 1, and all his life he sat around, didnt do much. now all of a sudden he is running around, pacing, climbing the walls and mesh. why is he doing this whats wrong with him? i havent changed anything recently so i dunno whats up.
maybe, I self sexed him, so its likely i got it wrong. They lay that early? and whenever he poos he runs around a couple of times, even before his random acts of hype. these acts have been happening for about a week now.
my boy Copernicus has been very active and hyper (pacing, climbing walls, monkeybarring the top mesh, running around) and he was never like this before, he sat around all day. he's almost a year old, and I self sexed him, he seemed to be a he, but someone suggested it can be a her who is about to lay eggs. so I put a box of substrate for her in the enclosure. couple hours later and she's like this. Does this mean he is a she???
Hi there....did you check the lay box for eggs ? Copernicus has been digging, but even males can become very restless. His/her belly is flat, so that doesn't seem like a female with eggs unless they have already been layed. I can tell you if it's a male or female if you arch the tail up and take a few pics of the vent area.
Hi there....I replied on your thread in the general discussion. If you get a couple of pics of his vent under his tail [ with tail arched up in the air ] I can tell you if it's a male. The large head looks like a male, but that's not always conclusive at all, but if you get some pics of under his tail someone can sex him for you.
Try to get 2-3 of the tail like you have, but showing more of the tail....that picture you took is good but not showing enough of the tail, but from that it does look female....just need a couple more with more of the tail showing. No need for body shots.
Yes, looks like a girl. What kind of lay box do you have ? For now, let her dig + do her thing. If she digs for a long time without laying today, give her a bath so she can get a drink + then dry her off before the day is over. Many dragons will lay before evening, but I've had females lay as late as 10:00 p.m.
