I've had my beardie for a week, and already am spoiling him. But looking in his cage, I feel there is so much potential to make it into a paradise for him. He is still a baby, so as of now I have him in a 20 gallon (30" x 12" x 12") glass tank. I love creating things, and this gives me a chance to do a little project that him and I can both enjoy. I'm looking to do faux rock platforms, ramps, a cave, basically I want to go all out! I know most people do styrofoam as a base, then cover with grout and a coat or two of pvc to keep it from weathering. BUT I'd like to get some feedback, ideas, tips, advice, all of the sort, before I dive face first into this. Any design ideas, tips on measurements, process advice, ANYTHING is what I'm looking for from this community! I trust you guys, I've gotten a lot of great tips and advice so far, and the knowledge here is amazing. So I thank you all in advance for anything you'd like to post!
I would build a large enclosure. I suggest reviewing this build https://beardies.dreamwidth.org/2145.html and put together something similar. I'd build it taller if you can. Maybe 4' tall and build levels into it. If you want it to have a natural look I would also look into bioactive substrate. It takes a bit of work to get set up initially and you'll want to build space at the bottom to build drainage layers but it's a nice end result if it's built properly. I'd shoot for something similar to what Taterbug has https://sites.google.com/site/thelizardmadness/photogradient
