Hey guys, I have a bearded dragon who is about 8 months old named Sylvester. I noticed today an odd looking spot on his back and I just wanted to make sure it is not anything bad! I worry because this is my first bearded dragon and don't want anything to go wrong! He has been acting normal and everything, I only noticed it today so it couldn't have been there for long. Sorry the pictures are not the best but I hope you can see what I am talking about
All the help much appreciated! Thanks guys p.s last picture isn't showing anything just a selfie of him
Does the area seem to bother him at all if you touch it? Is it possible it's just food particulate that got stuck there? A soak and a gentle rub if it doesn't bother him should remove it if it's food.
Otherwise, it looks like some type of puncture possibly, or a bite from an insect. Are insects left in his tank at all? Or is it possible he poked himself on something in his tank?

Hi Brandon, no it doesn't bother him at all I can touch it and he doesn't react any different than usual. It could be a food Particle i will try giving him a bath! The only insects I've heard are the odd fruit fly... unless they bite? As for the poking I do have fairly long nails so it is possible I poked him will it be okay? Thanks for the reply!!
Your nails wouldn't have done that, I was thinking more like a metal wire being bent down from his screen top if he has one, or a sharp object in his enclosure.
Try the bath, and if it doesn't bother him, gently brush it and see what happens
If it doesn't come off and it is infact a wound, you can apply some raw unpasturized honey to it. That will keep it clean and help the wound heal. Just make sure you aren't leaving his feeders inside his tank, otherwise they will nibble at it.
