Hey guys! First off thanks for any responses in advance!!
My 11 month old Spike has pin worms and coccidia. I am not sure on how high the count was. It could just be high for now because I had to take him with me on a business trip so maybe he has relocation stress in the hotel ?. I'm waiting for the vet to get back with me but she has prescribed Pancur for the pinworms. One dose now and another in two weeks. She also prescribed Albon but I told her that I heard it was rough on the beardie so she said the other option was Ponzuril. Which do you guys recommend?
He's fine now still eating and active just bad diarrhea but hasn't been giving the medicine yet. I just got the Pancur filled today. Do I need to give him probiotics as well? What would be best to use? Just normal soy yogurt or actual probiotics made for reptiles? Any suggestions on where to get these?
Also, how do u guys give the medicine? Just put the dropper in his mouth?
Sorry for all the questions! I've only had him for about 3 weeks so still new to all this! Thanks again!!
Hi Kelsey....Ponazuril has a much better reputation for being less harsh as well as working with less dosing. You can offer it orally, but for dragons that refuse it and that are still eating you can actually inject it in to an insect that you then feed to your dragon. Any of the probiotics will work, whatever you can get and that the dragon will eat. Best wishes.
