I've just about made my decision to get a beardie. I'm just finalizing some research and figuring out what I want to get for habitat and lighting. We don't get a lot of choice here in Vermont, so I may have to settle a bit for now. Looks like I will probably go with a large size Exo-Terra or Zilla enclosure. I haven't made up my mind on lighting yet - there seems to be a lot of confusion and turmoil there I need to sort through.
There are plenty of food sources locally, so that's not a problem, and enough accessories for the habitat to build a decent setup.
Anyway, I'll let ya know once he. or she, comes home!
Welcome aboard Dave.
Remember the forums #1 rule. "Pics or it didnt happen!...lol"
Lighting can be real simple.
I use the reptisun flur tube for my uvb, and regulars house bulbs to get my heat.
I've just ordered one of Tom's beautiful citrus beardies, and if all goes according to plan he should be here sometime Thursday.
The cricket and worm supplies arrive tomorrow, the viv is all setup and the lights and temps checked out and the roach starter colony comes in next week. About all I need to get tomorrow is a couple Rubbermaid totes for the crickets and roaches, and some sort of plastic tub for bathing.
Now I am getting excited! Pics forthcoming upon arrival, of course. Thanks to all here in the community for guidance, answers and expertise.
