My beardie Evelyn Rose, will be a year old later this fall and she is doing pretty good, but her little nails are so freaking long and sharp! She loves to cuddle and crawl on me, but I end up with scratches all over! Can I or is there a way to clip/take care of her long nails? I was thinking about taking her outside and letting her run around on the cement a little bit each day (when it is warm enough for her) like how they recommend to do with dogs and their nails. Any suggestions? Thanks everyone
For my substrate I have the lizard carpet. I wanting to find a bigger tank for her (I have a 40 gallon currently) but I fee like she would like more room. With a new tank I think tile would be the option, what kind of tile do you use? Also do you have any form of heat under the tiles? Or do you just have it coming from above? (I would love a photo of your tanks if you don't mind ) Evie is my first beardie, so I am still learning as a I go so any advice is wonderful! Thanks!
the tile holds heat extremly well believe it or not. and to keep nails nice and trim slate tile is the way to go. i dont have any in my viv currently but when i redo it here soon slate tile will be what i use for a substrate. you can get extremly nice looking slate tile for 3-4$ a piece. Or you can get other natural buffed stone. my advice is to goto a hardware store and check it out. try not to get ceramic tiles because it just wont work as good.
