Wife got a lot of schwag (and some nice gifts from employees) for manager appreciation week. Among the schwag is a sticker pack mostly of cats and dogs. But it also has a bird, horse and bearded dragon to cover the common and exotic animals veterinarians see :)
Pretty cool to see beardies included. First time I've seen any stuff from suppliers that isn't a cat, dog or maybe a generic gecko or snake.

The other critters get to say something inspiring though...

"FEED ME", "I'm tired of being ridden" and "I'm a pretty bird" could be added lol
I harass them all the time at petsmart for not including beardie in their posters and merch. I noticed they had a beardie listed as a "Red" morph the other day. ..... I gave them an education on morphs to. I don't think they were to happy about being educated lol.
All in all I don't think they like when I come in lol 😆

Pet supplies plus opened a store near me. When I first went in it's like great another store keeping beardies. But after a few visits I learned the owners / franchisees are Beardie parents too. They only keep a couple at a time, different morphs properly labeled, well fed and cared for etc... They have space for 4 IIRC but usually only have 2-3 at a time. Great selection of foods available to buy and for them to eat. Fresh salads, live insects etc.... Much better treatment than petcosmart and the local fish / pet stores. I don't like going to stores in general, but it's been really nice since they opened earlier this year. My last visit is when I met the owners when I got a great deal on some fish food. Grabbed Alex some treats and they asked what they were for and we had a nice talk. Promised to bring Alex on the next visit.

It's a place that sells 5 dead dubia roaches for $20 lol I actually walked out of one of those places with a can of wax worms (literally the only mostly alive thing) after waiting in "line" for 20 minutes while the cashier and customer/ employee from another store flirted. Literally walked around them, waved goodbye with the can and left. Guy says "What's his problem?" as I stormed out. It was winter, her delivery was delayed and she was little. My patience was done lol I entered the line with him in front and one customer finishing up... Nope lol I didn't even fully realize it until I left because I was moments away from a panic attack.

That was not my experience w/ Pet Supplies Plus. Maybe I'll give them another look. They told me they didn't sell any live feeders.

Not much makes me more aggravated than cashiers that dilly dally around. Just because they've got no where to go and all day to get there doesn't mean the rest of us do. I'll usually build a fire under their rearends when I've reached my limit.

I have seen online in other forums that when Chewy (just remembered it, never was a customer) did little paintings of the pets of customers (no idea when this happened), there were also beardies.

Agree! I think, at least in the US, beardies should not be that rare, or?
I would guess more people have a bearded dragon than a larger parrot.
What I'm just missing on that sticker sheet is rodents and generally small mammals. Maybe the sheets are selected accordingly to what somebody buys? (I saw "manager appreciation week", but maybe she talked about pets or buys supplies?)

Agree, and generally chit-chat when work is to do. (I understand breaks are necessary, but there is break time for that, and somebody waiting is not "there is nothing to do right now".)

This one is locally owned and operated. Not sure if that's the same everywhere. It's new to the area, but I was familiar with them in the Midwest where they have more presence. Might just be more focused on dogs etc...or just another business they have and are focused on what sells most with the highest profits and lowest loss. If there are others in the area, might not hurt to check what they have. Might be the same owner or people with different clientele needs.
Saars is a chain grocer but each store caters to different neighborhoods needs so I love exploring the different cultures needs.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
The head tilt tho! Aaaahhh
