I rescued Spike a week and a bit ago, and he's doing awesome. The guy didn't really seem interested in Spike, and when I first asked his name the guy was like 'uhh... Spike', like he was trying to think. I know him as Spike now, and I keep thinking that I'll keep him as that, but the thought keeps coming to me to name him something different.
When I got my first Beardie he was so jumpy and didnt want to sit still for even a second so joking I said Im gna call you Twitch. Well it Stuck and I dont really like the name all to much but my gf Loves it so she told me I could give him a Middle name now he has a middle name lol. I still catch myself calling him Twitch and Im not sure if they actually know their name because twitch only responds to food lol... My new dragon Peach on the other hand she looks right at you when you say her name lol. I hope this helps =)
Haha this dude tends to ignore me unless he's pooped or needs a climb or a feed. He never wants to sit still either, I got me an adhd beardie! He's had stress marks all day cause I won't let him behind my pc.
LOL Twitch loves to sit on my Keyboard ad watch me on the PC but I haven't taken him out very much the past weekish because he keeps trying to bite me and puffing his beard out at me... I will just have to wait till he calms down, I think its because its mating season but I am not sure. :study:
Lol how old is he? Sounds like you haven't had him long, he's probably going through beardie puberty. they do get grumpy. Don't let him intimidate you, it's likely all a show.
I was under the influence he was 5 Months until recently I was told he is almost a year old lol... well i tried to grab him but he jumped with his mouth open I had to move out of the way lol

My 2 month old does that but what I do because she did bite me and its not hard its like a pinch I wrapped her up at night when she was sleepy and held her while watching tv and I put my hand in her viv I do touch her even when she beards she now in the last 2 days has stopped hissing bearding and will let me touch her and hold her.
You just have to not be afraid. I had my big male he is 430 grams 21 inches long 1.5 years old bit me and it doesnt hurt at all. He has never bitten me again and is snuggly my female has never bitten me.
Just takes time the bearding will stop .
Also dont grab from the top put from the side and always supporting beardie and the tail they dont like when the tail is hanging it freaks them out lol.
Lol i have been letting him watch one hand as i come from the side with my other hand to grab him so he is distracted. Once i have him he stops bearding i havent heard him hiss yet tho. Thank you for the tips
