Caught snuggling with his food! It's darker in there than it appears. Our boy is rehabbing after fall and jaw fracture in July 2023. He's only just been reintroduced to wiggly critters. I got him to eat one earlier but not this one. I hoped maybe he'd eat it on his own. Friends instead. That worm could have slept anywhere in his huge enclosure. I have watched it climb around all afternoon. It chose to rest right there. Clearly *not* the danger zone.
For context, he has been syringe or hand-fed since 18 July last year. He has used his tongue normally just once, as of the 8th this month to grab one of these tasty treats. I've been hoping he'd do it again. Now they're getting very big and it's hit or miss as to whether he'll bite when they're placed in his mouth. It's been a journey.
Fear not. The worm has been removed.
