where do you get your supplies from if you don't get them from a local shop?
I have no locals that sell much of anything for anything but cats and dogs, all the lights in town are for fish, and there are no insects except mealworms and crickets.
I just want to find out who shops where... and maybe have a sticky made in the Canada sub-forums with the info I gather.
Sorry, my bad. It's reptilesupply.com
I've ordered from bugorder.com before. They are good. But I feed mainly hornworms and so I order from canadianfeeders.com (They are GREAT!) since bugorder.com doesn't carry them. If you are feeding crickets or supers, bugorder is good
I have ordered from http://www.canadiansilkworms.com, I have found them to be the most reasonable priced. As far as supplies I have used herpsupplies.com. There is a canadian supplier at http://www.beanfarm.com that looks good.
Im in toronto and have a couple major pet stores that do carry a wide variety of supplies for all types of pets, incuding reptiles...Everything from bulbs to bugs. I mostly count on the breeder that i got mine from for my little ones food...For bulbs i order from reptileuv.
I've had issues with CanadianSilkworms, their prices are ok and everything, but their buisiness practices are going to get them in trouble some day.
That and it was something like 9-10 months ago that I asked him to tell me when he got some more Hornworms and his site has said they they are out of stock since then.
You could have grown something like 2 dozen generations of Hornworms in that amount of time. So, as far as I'm concerned, he's saying he's carrying stuff that he really isn't.
Beanfarm however, Is American... I was really excited about this place until I found that out. I'm looking for Canadian Suppliers. I don't want to pay an extra $100 just because it has to cross the border. I don't know why you thought that was a Canadian supplier, they are located in Washington.
[Edit] Just talked to Beanfarm and they don't even Ship Cages to Canada
Before I started breeding my own supers, I used canadian feeders (http://www.canadianfeeders.com) for most of my feeders and canadian silkworms occassionally as well. I never had any issues or problems with Canadian Feeders and their customer service was always great.
