Zeddicus has a repti sun 10.0 florescent in his tank and I was curious if they can get to close to their UVB. I have it inside of the tank so the screen doesn't filter it out. I just but a box in there for the time being to boost his basking spot up a little bit so it can get a few degrees warmer, but now he keeps climbing to the top of his stuffed animal right next to his UVB. I just wanted to make sure that was ok, or do I need to move his basking spot so its not right next to the bulb. Thank you.
From what I understand, they can be too close to the uvb. It MAY cause eye problems. Before we built vivs, I cut a hole the length of the bulb into the screen. Then I just sat the light on the screen like always without any problems.
