Marley did something odd today, her tail went almost straight up in the air, very stiff and her left arm started twitching. It was very scary looking not at all normal or anything shes done before. She lifts her tail a little to poop but that's it and the arm thing didn't look like waving it looked kinda like a parkinsons type of thing. I don't know what happened but it looked like a seizure. Anyone heard of this? I don't know what to do I cant get her to a vet and as far as Im aware I have no reptile rescue operations in my state. Any ideas?
Was it feeding time at that point? is there something in the room that could have frightened her? Was the arm movement a twitch or was it arm waving (moving her fron arm in a odd circular movement)?
She arm waves fairly often and this was dif it was shaking and there was no food or anything she was just in there by herself and had been for a minute. Ive never seen her tail go that high up and her body bent in a U shape. Shes not very mobile(MBD and who knos what else). Im worried she is suffering but I dont want to take her to the humane society cuz I kno they will kill her instead of spend the money fixing her up for adoption. As we all kno their are so many abandoned(sp?) animals that most places that take them are overwhelmed. I dont want her to die but dont want her to suffer either.. no idea what to do :dontknow: :help: :dontknow:
Hi there ! I'm very sorry to read this... I know there are those that do take in dragons that are suffering from MBD or other malady's, perhaps you can post in Beardie Rescues and someone more able than yourself might look in and adopt this fellow ?
At any rate... I know this has got to be hard on you.. Big hugs !
Janie
You could pm drache613 (her name is Tracie) She may have some ideas to help you take care of him. You can do this, it won't be easy but you can do it. Also, Tracie has a website where you can get liquid calcium which he will need if he does have and MBD problem.
I do have a question, what uvb do you have on him?
Thanks for the replies, I wouldve responded MUCH sooner but for some reason I stopd getting emails to notify me...
Ive actually found someone to take marley who has more time and money than I do so she'll be in good hands. I am currently looking for a trusted breeder in or within shipping distance of Nebraska so would appreciate anyone passing info or websites etc on to me, Thanks!
