Hello everyone I recently was given a male bearded dragon and I already had a female for a few months that was also given to me. Anyways I’m wondering if they can ever meet? I brought him home with a black beard there was just so many things being wrong with the way he was cared for but I’m wondering if I can introduce them if he has a black beard ? I’ve only had him for 3 days so should I wait? Or can they never meet? I also have them in the same room right now since I have cats but they can’t see each other. But when I let girl out yesterday she was smelling all his things that were in a box and didn’t really seem bothered by it but then today her beard is also slightly darker than normal so do you think it’s stressing her out?? And would be worse to introduce them?

They should not meet unless you want babies -- they should not see each other as it will stress both of them out---------- dragons are territorial and a loner animal ---

I think it depends on situation.
If I have Sinatra and Ruby out on the floor he trys to mate, if I have them on my chest at bed time, they snuggle. I've even started having Zsa Zsa out with them at bed time. (Separated by a heating pad, not side by side) she shows zero stress.
I do not however let them have line of site in their habitats, that for sure causes stress.
I think beardies can be introduced if done very carefully and slow at first.
If there is any sign of aggression, then keep them apart.

I would advise not to introduce dragons at first. After you get another dragon, you need a quarantine regime until you are sure that the newcomer does not have any infections. A good idea would be to take stool tests. During quarantine, you also need to wash your hands if you handled one dragon and want to take another.

Did you have them together when they were small or were you able to introduce one another?

The beardies I have now are 4ish years old, 2,1/2 and 9 months old. (Sinatra, Ruby, and Zsa Zsa) Zen was 4, Sweet pea was 4ish, and Snickers was 3ish. The only ones I ever had at the same time as babies was Zen and Chomp, those two were clutch mates. So all my guys have been introduced as they came into our home.

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?
