I own a 1 year old beardy and i plan on getting a baby beardy very soon. I plan on for the first 4-6 months to keep it in it's own tank but after that i wanted to put it in the tank with my older beardy, would there be any problem with doing this(for the safety that they dont hurt each other)
thanks
I have a german gaint male and a sandfire female. I have had them for two years and they have always been together. They act like an old couple in the tank. SHe has layed eggs twice in her tank with the male just watching. I guess I would say that I am lucky that the two of them are getting along. When I purchased the pair the lady said that I can house them together as long as I started from the beginning. I have not had any problems with the two of them housing together.
it is possible, but a majority of the members on this site recomend against it.
many times one is overly aggresive towards the other and that just makes for a rotten life, dont you think?
many people will look at the male jumping on the female and biting her and say "oh, thats normal. they do that in nature". but seriously, if you had a choice, wouldnt you rather live a care free life, having the entire basking spot to yourself without a "friend" to constantly bite and dominating you? if you watch a pair of captive dragon, one usually blocks the others light by constantly laying on them. i used to think it was cute until i realized it was the sign of a possesive male.
i rescued a pair and seperated them as soon as i could afford it; the female was happy as a clam but the male was ticked he didnt have anyone to push around anymore...
