Yeah you could take extras along but they would need to be in the package unopened until you need them. The O.P opened these all last night, and since they are 8 hr. heat packs [ that's on the package ] the heat will die out by now. The vet visit is concerning in many ways.and i won't lie, if it were me, even if i didn't use them all at once, i'd still take all the ones i have. ya never know what's gonna happen and i like to over prepare!
Thank you!!Hope all goes well ! Just use a couple, no more than 2 handwarmers. Please listen, it's very important , your dragon will get heat exhaustion or even death with that many, they get up to 156 F and can overheat a reptile quickly ! EDIT....Did you open the heat packs tonight already ? Because if they are 8 hour packs they will be fizzled out tomorrow. You have to open them about 40 minutes bfore using, shake them slighly and then use them as planned, under the sweater in the box.
Thank you so much for the link I appreciate it. I will order it when I can. Hands are full atm Ivy currently has my full attentioni know it is short notice for your vet trip, but for future reference, this is what we use on trips. it will let you hook a seat belt through loops on the back to secure it while driving. our vet is 2 hours away from our house. the car keeps things warm enough we don't need the heat packs while driving.

granted you have much colder outside temps right now than we do, but the packs would only be needed while you are outside unless the cab has no heater. and then you would only need one or two at a time
But i asked the cab to turn on the heater temps should be ok now she’s scratching to come out and wont stop lolThank you so much for the link I appreciate it. I will order it when I can. Hands are full atm Ivy currently has my full attention
Its 2 degrees C here
Oh no id definitely fight them on that. I will not leave her sight. And i will be on here during the visit. If they recommend any medicine i will post it on here and ask all of you firstO.K., whew ! Hopefully she'll produce a poo at the vet's since some beardies do that just because they're nervous. I hope the vet knows what they're doing and be sure to be adamant about no enema. I'd also avoid meds. that are " just in case ." Try to be with her during the exam, I don't know why some vets don't want the owner there but I would be determined .
I know it wouldn’t I’ve seen so many vids of beardie owners give d3 that’s why i got it - because my calcium powder when i first bought her didnt have any d3.It's probably metacam [ meloxicam ] And I still think the broccoli was vomit . I've seen vomit, it comes out like that sometimes rather than liquidy. The other glob was poo. Vitamin powder or calcium w/D3 would not cause this .All beardie owners [ may be a very few exceptions ] give D3 orally. I have for more than 2-3 generations of dragons, including the many babies I hatched here in my home.
Also, so nice you hatched them in your own home. :’) aspire to be as knowledgeable as youI know it wouldn’t I’ve seen so many vids of beardie owners give d3 that’s why i got it - because my calcium powder when i first bought her didnt have any d3.
He only asked for an xray, xray came back great - absolutely nothing wrong. I requested for blood work should have results in 3 days tops. Other than that he said she’s ok and nothing urgent, possible ulcer / GI tract.
He prescribed a painkiller because he says “she’s obviously in pain/discomfort and needs it”
Said ultrasound is not needed yet
Prescribed medicine also i think for ulcers i should have the name in a bit. Im supposed to give it to her at home. Will provide the name here first and hear ur feedback
Currently waiting
Oh my! I don't agree w/ this vet eitherMentioned everything - no impaction or full / hard stomach. Taking her for xray now. Showed him the vomit he said it was poop not vomit - he said they may recommend pain medication and “GI medicine” don’t have the name yet but will provide here once I know
He also said I should not have given her a vitamin powder that has both calcium and D3, said D3 is not meant to be taken orally and could have caused this? I thought the powder was supposed to have both? Says it could’ve caused liver issue
So what do i do nowOh my! I don't agree w/ this vet either
