Hi, just got a new dragon about 8-9 months old. Im just curious because I've looked everywhere but can't find a specific answer. I bought REPTICALCIUM WITH D3 and REPTIVITE VITAMINS WITH D3. I was wondering if I dust my insects with BOTH supplements when I feed him, or use REPTICALCIUM WITHOUT D3 and the REPTIVITE VITAMINS WITH D3. I'm just worried about an overdose of D3. I just ordered REPTICALCIUM WITHOUT D3 on Amazon in case I need to change it up. I'm feeding him everyday since he is about a 1/3 way to adult size, and dusting 2-3 times a week. I have a Reptisun 10.0 UVB Bulb, with a hold cut in the hood so rhe UVB is not blocked. And a 150 Watt Basking bulb that keeps his Basking spot at about 100-105 degrees Fahrenheit. Please reply if you have the chance! Thank you all
D3 works with the calcium, and (according to my breeder's care sheet) should be used once per day. The vitamins (again from breeder's care sheet) should be used once per week.
I hadn't looked to see if the vitamins I have contain D3... hold da phone... they do not.
Either way, if you're dusting w/ vitamins once per week, it wouldn't hurt to skip the calcium that day.
According to my breeder (others may vary--read a few care sheets--except those from large pet store chains--for a consensus):
Dust w/calcium+D3 once per day
Dust w/ vitamins once per week; if the vitamins also contain D3, I would skip the calcium that day to avoid too much D3.
