Does anyone know how much calcium powder/multi vitamin supplements would be efficient for a juvenile bearded dragon? My beardie is about 4 months old and I dust her crickets once sometimes twice a day with calcium powder. I know calcium can be deadly if they get too much but my beardie seems very happy and healthy. I am just not sure if this will cause problems down the line. Also how often should I give her multi vitamin? I have a liquid multi vitamin that I usually drop a couple of drops on her wax worms and feed her.
I would dust bugs at every feeding by shaking them in a small cup with supplement so they have a light, even coat. I would offer multivitamin on the bugs instead of calcium once or twice per week. Salad doesn't need supplementation. I would also avoid using waxworms as they are high in fat. Healthier options for worms include black soldier fly larvae, silk worms, and horn worms.
