My gravid beardie is now being given calcium injections daily, I’m supposed to do them myself and it’s making me nervous. I was show how to do it but I still have a couple questions.
Is there supposed to be a bump after it’s injected? I did it today and there was a raised area.
Is it bad if there’s blood after?
I was told by the vet to pull back once the needle is in to make sure there is no blood and then inject. Later when I checked she had bled a little after.
Does anyone have any other tips or videos they can share with me?
Just a question - why are you injecting calcium to your gravid dragon?
My dragon laid eggs two weeks ago - she had her normal intake of calcium and nothing went wrong.
Just wondering if its completely necessary to give calcium injections?
Also I had given my dragon antibiotics once (the nurse had administered them) and caused some bleeding - I'm not going back there - I was told that it's not good when they bleed as it scab could be at risk of infection.
