I need your advise please experts.
Bearded Dragon eats only around 5-7 crickets dusted with calcium Powder and won't touch anymore some days we won't eat them at all. Adult. Not eating greens much
Now what I have noticed is, today he ate 7 calcium crickets, and then 15 undusted.
undusted he would jump on in a second, dusted he ignores it.
Good, made a good discovery, now how do I balance calcium requirements ?
How much Calcium does he need ? So if he eats 7 crickets let's say dusted every 2-3 days and has as much as he wants undusted, how do I know how much calcium in take he needs and how to up it if it's below what he needs when he won't eat them dusted nor on his salads.
In fact he barely eats salads, he does eat some button squash and red capsicum
Hi Shania, if your dragon is an adult the they don't need as much food or calcium. As for specific or recommended amounts, your method sounds fine. Do you use the plain calcium or with added D3 ? What type of uvb do you have ? Calcium with D3 shouldn't be given TOO often, 1-2 X a week at most for adults . Can you post a couple pics of your dragon to show body size as well as pics of the set up + lights ? Here's how :
