My 8 inch beardie has been eating crickets for the week that I’ve had him but I HATE them, so I’ve been looking into other live food. Dubia roaches seemed like a great option but I can’t get hold of them easily here, I live in the UK. One thing I can get hold of easily are Calci Worms, and they’re fairly cheap here. Can I feed Calci Worms as a daily source of protein without any type of bugs, and how many will my 8 inch beardie eat, and do I need to dust with calcium or vitamin supplements as normal.
So many questions, so few answers! Thanks!
They make a good staple feeder if you do crickets and other bugs as well. Or at least thats my opinion. They dont need to be dusted for the calcium part, ive never dusted them before when i fed them, but i also offered crickets and other bugs that were dusted depending on how much calci-worms they were given and depending on the day it was.
For my 8 month old beardie, which is the only one eating insects everyday usually i give her 10-15 calciworms in the morning and shake 10-20 crickets in her tank for her to catch throughout the day and then around her second feeding she gets 10 calciworms and 10 dusted crickets. And then sometimes occasionally i give her some hornworms and roaches. I'd love to feed roaches everyday if i could but my colony was downgraded quite a lot when i got her since i didn't exactly control how many baby roaches she ate at first.
Sorry for the late reply by the way.
Also im sure if my beardie was eating three times a day instead and she was younger i'd probably give her 10 calciworms and 10 crickets in the morning, and then 5 medium/small roaches and 10 crickets and then 15 calciworms and 5 crickets.
