Hi guys I'm new here and hopefully if all goes to plan will be a frequent visitor. I just bought my lighting and tank needs as well as a starter kit for a colony of Dubias. I've done quite a bit of research about bearded dragons and I'm a bit concerned about the group of dragons I'm picking mine out of. The guy selling them seems knowledgeable and advertised them as babies and the picture he supplied they looked to be about 6" or less. But when I asked about their age he stated they were 6 months which from my understaing means they should be double that size. I'm just concerned that these Beardies have been malnourished for the past 6 months. I don't have many choices for buying my baby in Boston and I'm hoping that there is nothing wrong but any guidance you veterans can give me would be great. the pictures he sent me are below.
**If the breeder I'm refering to is on this forum I apologise and do not mean to insult your husbandry skills I'm just inexperienced and want to make sure I make a worth while investment**
He could have possibly made a mistake and meant to say 6 weeks. 6 weeks sounds more likely with the looks of them. (of course that is if that is a recent picture of them)
I e-mailed him back to double check and he confirmed that they are 6 months and that the pictures are up to date. below are more pics he sent me. Are there any health risks or long term affects that I should be concerned about or can i buy one of these guys and take care of him properly. I feel like I should buy one just so it's taken care of properly...To my untrained eye the girth on these guys seems fine I would imagine if they were underfed hey would be skinny no?
