Bumblebee...roll out!

He’s here! The snow cleared and we were able to make it today. I was wondering why Tom didn’t work today.

He’s settling in right now and we tried to sex him he is still kinda young which I thought he’d be bigger (note I never met Bee or his parents). Breeder said he is the second smallest next to Donatello (the runt he’s keeping). So he had two runts Im fine with that. I had Kane out and he stopped by the 20 gall he tilted his head and black bearded at Bee (who’s in his tank btw) he quickly calmed down and just waved at him. They do not have adenovirus he said they didn’t (parents) Bumblebee and Donatello are both runts he assured us that he’ll grow out fine.

Here he is:

So you've got him eating out of your hand already. Puff tolerated having his face wiped after getting squash all over it, but I don't think he particularly enjoyed it. If we didn't wipe it off right after he ate, it would harden and then it would be really hard to get it off the next day, so I hope you can work things out with Bee. I once heard of someone who took their beardie to the vet because they thought he had a growth on his face and it turned out to be hardened squash. The fact that it was orange colored should have tipped them off. At least it was easy to fix -- no surgery required :)

Yes I had forgotten about Broly's salad eating habits waaayyy back at the beginning of his thread. I can't believe you kept it going for his whole life -- that's amazing. It wasn't a short life either. I suppose it's not unusual for a beardie to change his food preferences over the years. Puff liked earthworms at first but had a heck of a time eating them. They were too slimy for him to get a good grip on them. I put a lot of injured ones out in the garden LOL Toward the end of his life he didn't even like hornworms anymore. That's unheard of. He used to go nuts over them.

I noticed that your Eagles got into the Super Bowl and I thought of you. I haven't even been following my Packers lately, but I wouldn't really call myself a "fan" of football anyway, although I enjoy it when I do watch. I know just enough about the game to not be totally lost. My dad taught me most of what I know. He wanted to play when he was young but his own father wouldn't let him because he thought he would get hurt. Then he grew up to be a big husky guy and his father thought he should have let him play football after all. My dad and I used to watch it and play arm-chair quarterback together. One time the quarterback was back behind the line of scrimmage looking for an open receiver and I said, "Get rid of it, you're going to get sacked!" and my dad said something like, "Gee, you really do know what's going on, don't you?" I guess he thought I was just pretending to know. But my husband and I are not watching the Super Bowl today because my he's not into football at all, and he's taking a nap right now. He thinks the players make too much money for playing a game, and one where they might get injured for all that, and he wishes they would donate more to charity, although I think at least some of them do. Some of our friends used to have a Super Bowl watching party complete with lots of food and drinks. They'd even get root beer especially for my husband. Neither one of us drink. But they got to where they weren't up to it anymore so they don't do it these days. Anyway, by the time you read this TLDR the game will probably be over. I hope your Eagles will have won. I can't remember who the other team is, but I'm pretty sure they're not playing against the Packers ;)

Super bowl champions baby! I honestly just cant with Chiefs. Im glad Eagles knocked em down 40-22. It proves they can break after playing really well all season.

Bee either eats on his own, my hand or tongs. Tongs were just so he wouldn’t come near us if he chose to stay away from our hands. Sometimes he’s brave other times he’ll run away and I have to use tongs to get him to eat. End of the night, he’s basking as he’s dark in color seeking heat.

With our team winning we’re gonna go celebrate. Dragons are in their tanks, our african grey is in his cage we’re set for the night.

Congratulations to the Eagles! Do you think the dragons enjoyed the game? And did the parrot have anything to say? ;) Definitely celebrate.

Mirage... is your beardie good at making like a chameleon? Caiques -- had to look that one up. Never had a parrot myself, just a bearded dragon and a snake. Can your parrots talk?

Yup I have a 10 yr old grey. He didn’t really say anything Im sure he caught on why we were yelling. He kept looking in Bee’s direction and Bee saw him and bearded and then hid away which makes sense Victor is a bird.

What’s funny was we saw an eagle on the way to get Bumblebee which I felt was a sign Eagles are going to win. Gorgeous raptor (my dad calls them) to be honest.

Bumblebee ate this morning then rubbed his face on the ground. I don’t know why probably a random itch. I didn’t see any shedding or food on his face. He does have a nice round belly so it proves he eats well even if it’s not much right now. It should pick up soon I thought babies eat so much during the week it’s in the 100s by the time the week is up. Im gonna have to get Tom to weigh him. I know if you try placing him somewhere he bolts off quickly. He doesn’t know what we’re doing and we probably won’t even get a weight because he’ll get off like “nah, I don’t think you’re putting me on that thing.” He has an attitude already. He’s also using the bathroom once a day and he likes to try eating wood pieces from his log which doesn’t make sense I do feed him. I try catching him before swallowing any. Im just like “why? You get food I don’t understand your malfunctioning.” He can’t be hungry he gets his fill sorry 15 minutes isn’t enough for live bugs. It’s 15 or he’ll gorge himself to too full. He’s probably turning into a troublemaker and by the time he’s 2 years old he’s more of a troublemaker LOL.

I caught him gaping aka letting off excess heat. He doesn’t eat much for dinner though he’s fed at 5pm. I think he’s had too much salad LOL. He let the 4 roaches crawl around. I wasn’t trying to feed just 4 I was starting with 4 so he’s not overwhelmed by like 10. He wasn’t interested he licked one and was like “take them away thanks for feeding me though..”
Maybe he isn’t much of an eater I mean Kane wasnt as a hatchling and he grew to like 25” long (he has part german giant we got from a breeder 8 years ago).

Haha always.

Tom said he saw tiny bumps on Bee’s inner thigh he said “looks like he’s a boy!” So yay the femoral pores are popping up I mean it’s one way to tell other than lifting the tail since he thinks Im trying to pull it off. Girls have them too but I have an 11 yr old female to go off of and I can’t see hers they’re against her thighs not popping out like a boys would. So that’s cool.

Maybe you could get a deli cup (you said Bee is small enough to fit in one), poke a few holes in the lid, tare the deli cup, then put him in it and weigh him that way. We were lucky -- Puff would just sit on the scale and chill.

I had almost forgotten about femoral pores. Puff's were unremarkable, but he did have them. Enough to know he was a male.

Bee sounds like a typical baby -- wants to put everything in his mouth LOL

Roaches used to run under Puff's body to avoid being caught. Then we'd put him back in his tank with roaches on his underbelly that we hadn't noticed and they'd hide in his towels and end up in the laundry. I found one in the washing machine after the wash cycle was over once, and I put it on a table to show my husband. I thought it was dead but I had put it on its back, and when I went to pick it up it latched onto my finger and started crawling around. It's no wonder those things have been around since the age of the dinosaurs. They're virtually indestructible. Unless, of course, they get eaten by a beardie ;)

It was on the news tonight that the Eagles won. My husband said, "So what?" I hope you won't be insulted. He's just really not into football. He'd say the same thing no matter who won. (I miss the eye roll emoji.)

@SHBailey Not sure what you mean by the chameleon comment :)
As far as my parrots go, they can mimic a few words, but it's nothing compared to how greys can talk. Their most used words are "WHAT!?" and "Really?"

Haha! I think its funny that is the stereotype for teenage girls. Being one myself, I find it wildly inaccurate. Though, I must admit I've always been a tom boy. Going so far as since I'm online school there are still kids who think I'm male.
