Bumblebee...roll out!

He’s here! The snow cleared and we were able to make it today. I was wondering why Tom didn’t work today.

He’s settling in right now and we tried to sex him he is still kinda young which I thought he’d be bigger (note I never met Bee or his parents). Breeder said he is the second smallest next to Donatello (the runt he’s keeping). So he had two runts Im fine with that. I had Kane out and he stopped by the 20 gall he tilted his head and black bearded at Bee (who’s in his tank btw) he quickly calmed down and just waved at him. They do not have adenovirus he said they didn’t (parents) Bumblebee and Donatello are both runts he assured us that he’ll grow out fine.

Here he is:

Nothing to really spray water on. He kept getting hurt on the tree. Im trying to find a way to fix it. I had to take it out. I guess the walls but yeah it’s already humid because of raining and will remain this way for about 10 days.

We got flooding in town however, Tom was able to get through the roads. It’s a winter storm moving to the cascades there, it will snow. Here it just rains and gives us powerful winds. Last night winds were 35-45 mph with gusts up to 70 mph. Beaches were worse. Power flickered a few times because we had a gust up to 71. We survived with the fireplace, power can’t take that.

Tom got lights on and he lifted the log as it’s been 40 minutes and Bee didn’t sit in the basking spot as he usually does within 20 minutes. Lifted the log, found Bee behind it and he went to set it back down heard Bee squirming around and he lifted it again and he was still in the same spot didn’t seem to have hurt him. Kept opening his mouth anytime his hand or log came near. I guess he was spooked as he was out running all over his tank. I don’t think he’s hurt I think he was spooked. He didn’t run away when the log was lifted back up. I’ll be watching him but Im sure he’s fine.
Oh man that's scary. Poor Tom feels awful I bet.

Finally fixed the tree. We’re watching Transformers now the storm passed.

Bumblebee isn’t sure what to think of who we named him after or he’s like I don’t care.

Tom was more concerned if Bee was hurt. It turns out he was trying to get away but wedged in between the tank wall and log when placed back down. It freaked him out because he wasn’t quite awake so seeing a log in his face scared him awake basically.

Bee trying to eat his croc skull or just licking it for whatever reason. I don’t know saw him licking his lips like he ate. I don’t put food there and I check for unwanted stuff in there. He has squash and roaches if he wants food. They’ll eat it if he doesn’t at least. I introduced kale and he threw it around. Mustard greens he picks them out and off to the side. So I had no sugar added apple juice lightly sprayed on the salad (I washed the bowl) and like a charm boom worked.

Jamie and Bee successfully out together he’s bigger than a feeder item. Total success she did her own thing not getting close and he did his thing. They stayed in their respective windows not moving an inch towards each other.

Sounds like you all survived the storm, although it also sounds like Bee wasn't too happy about it. It quit snowing here but it was a pretty good dump. No really bad wind though -- you had the worst of that. Back to normal for winter here. Now the sun is shining and the snow is dropping off the trees.

We always get the worst winds. Im not surprised.

So a few weeks I been getting Bee out once a day. I wanted him comfortable with it. Now I think we can go up to twice a day. Though he’s not completely comfortable with us he is getting better. Still runs away at times I do have to remember Im dealing with a literal hatchling. All my past dragons were 2 months old at least and bigger, so taming didn’t take too long. Yeah, he’s 2 months now and he’s just as big as the dragons I had when I got them.

It’s overcast today unfortunately cold so the big kids won’t go out today. They are however staring at our pond (there’s ducks in it) it overflowed from the massive storm but we’re ok no damage from floods. All 3 are watching the ducks. Omg they have ducklings!! I don’t know if they will let us take pics of them. The ducks know us we always feed them and not bread as some people are led to believe they’re ok with bread. Drop duck feed then leave they will not come near people. The canadian geese will and they’re perfectly comfortable and friendly with us.

Nobody can stare quite like a bearded dragon :)

Sounds like the taming is going well, and you've got Bee up to where he should have been before the breeder let him go -- a pretty impressive accomplishment.

There is a little pond by the bike trail near here with a bench, and there are usually ducks in the pond. One time I was walking by and stopped and sat on the bench and all the ducks got out of the water and came over to me expecting to be fed. Then there was the time I was near a lake in a park and there were signs all over the place that said "Don't feed the geese," but a goose walked up to me and stood there looking up at me like, "Well? Aren't you going to feed me?" Obviously, people were not paying any attention to the signs.

It was snowing here this afternoon -- just a little, but the sun was out and the clouds were pretty thin, so I'm not sure where it was coming from. My husband went out to look for a "snowbow," (the snow equivalent of a rainbow -- it happens sometimes) but didn't find one. We're actually getting to the time of year where it starts "warming up" albeit slowly. Equinox later this week. Yay!

My girlfriend used to manage an apartment community that had a pond the where lots of ducks and the yellow slider turtles 🐢. We rescued a hatchling that was in bad shape. Once he was healthy and had put on some size we released him back intovtge pond. All the ducks were pretty much tame.

Yes, the breeder and his gf really should have waited instead of looking like I got a small Petco baby. He’s definitely putting on weight can’t say much for size as he isn’t a fan of the tape measurer, he runs from it or turns his body/head so it’s not accurate. It’s a huge accomplishment Im excited I got him to where he should be.

Winds are coming back Wednesday ugh that’s laundry day (including Bee’s fleece bedding). Im autistic and OCD about my routine and the wind is going to upset my OCD about doing it on the day Ive always done laundry ever since I was 14 years old. If power goes out obviously nothing I can do but in my head I’ll he cursing the wind.

Xp29: that’s so awesome. Reminds me of the time we rescued a brown finch someone threw its nest from a tree and saw this poor hatchling bird struggling to live it needed a mother. I was 15 years old at the time and my goal was to nurse it so it can live out its life. I got everything necessary and fed it and grew its feathers, put on weight. I took it to a nearby park opened the cage it hopped out. I turned to leave it chirps and hops over to me. I said “it’s time to leave the nest all hatchlings do eventually. Fly like I showed you on tv” with that it found a group of finch which all accepted it and off it went with its new friends. I smiled and waved goodbye. I didn’t know what to do for it but I did my best and it grew up, not fully adult but grew enough to fly and survive on its own.

Oh wow that awesome and sweet. I think everything deserves a fair chance. We have native tarantulas here, I stop and move them out of the road when I see them 🙂

You live in Vegas don’t you? I remember seeing tarantulas when I lived there. Vegas my hometown, born and raised there. I raised a tarantula since my dad was afraid of them and I wanted it alive. I did release it eventually (it wasn’t a pet it was a wild one).

It happened! He hit a growth spurt or something he is now 9” long. That’s when I found out how long Broly was in April. I knew he is as big as him now. Whole tail into shed but not in shedding yet. If he’s 9” now after getting him a month ago I wonder how big he is as an adult.

It all depends on his gentics an care. We know he has great care, if he has the gentics it could be as much as 24-25 inches. I've had two that topped 24.

Kane is our biggest at 25” long. We were told by his breeder he had German Giant in him. Jamie is the second biggest maxed out at 20” long. Broly was maxed at 19” and Vash was 18”. I never did find out how long Alucard would be as he died young had adeno (wasn’t growing but always shed) and yf ended up killing him in the end. Idk what that breeder did but all the dragons they had all have yf and adeno. Idk what they have now but I will never go back to them.

My tape measurer broke it retracted all the way inside I was like “wtf?!” Tom tried to unscrew the back to get it out again but the second screw wouldn’t budge so we’ll be getting a new one Sunday until then he’s 9” LOL. He still looks 7 and a half inches to me. I guess it’s because I see him all day every day.

That's how it is for me to. I don't think they are growing then realize they've doubled in size lol.

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
