Bumblebee...roll out!

He’s here! The snow cleared and we were able to make it today. I was wondering why Tom didn’t work today.

He’s settling in right now and we tried to sex him he is still kinda young which I thought he’d be bigger (note I never met Bee or his parents). Breeder said he is the second smallest next to Donatello (the runt he’s keeping). So he had two runts Im fine with that. I had Kane out and he stopped by the 20 gall he tilted his head and black bearded at Bee (who’s in his tank btw) he quickly calmed down and just waved at him. They do not have adenovirus he said they didn’t (parents) Bumblebee and Donatello are both runts he assured us that he’ll grow out fine.

They also grow so fast even it doesn’t seem it. I’ll be starting the taming process next week on Wednesday. That’s 5 days after coming home it worked for Broly. I just wanna avoid additional unnecessary stress on him upon coming home. I have already starting slow with me just messing around in the tank. He didn’t really give a care about that unless I came near which I wasn’t trying I was just adding a log. Anyway I’ll need to ask a mod to lock Broly’s thread.

I just realized I bought Broly home Feb 7, 2015.. wow. Now Bumblebee same day except 2025 LOL. However Bee did not pick us he was picked for us and that’s ok. He has orange on his back so far as colors go. We’ll see what happens as sheds go.

Something I've had good luck with doing with my hatchlings is keeping them in the living room with us. It's a little stressful for a few days but they very quickly get used to people moving around and noise and such. I don't try to handle them much until they are bold enough to be a little interactive with us.

He’s in the living room with Kane above him and Jamie in a different room. He’s just watching Jamie now while Kane is back in his tank and eating.
He kept following her in his tank. He wasn’t sure what to think with Kane. He’s pretty sure Jamie is the one to follow. Jamie stopped and stared at him and he latched onto the door of the tank. Jamie ran up and licked the door like “I want out with her!” Yeah not happening buddy.

Yes he reminds me of just in beardies how small they were.

Aww... Glad you finally got him home. Sounds like he's(?) settling in nicely, and it's looking good that he might have a friendly relationship with Jamie at least, and maybe Kane will come around eventually. Bee is a good name if you don't yet know for sure if "he" is actually a he or a she. The name will work either way.

That butthead really fell asleep on the door. Me being cautious about falling on his back I picked him up off the door and set him down. 20 mins later - GONE! Im like no way he got out I didn’t hear him make any noise. How the UVB is placed I would have heard something and there’s no way he got up there. I carefully lifted up the log and there he was dead asleep. I did see two faint bumps on the tail base lifting it over his head. You can barely see them but they showed up. Also there’s a flashlight trick but I need him to be more calm before attempting that. Im pretty confident 99% male. I asked him for a male. I don’t blame him if he is a she you can’t always be sure especially this age. Im sure it’s a boy a young female is a new experience as I had an already adult Jamie (given to us when she was 5 years old). I’ll need a second laybox if Bee is female I don’t think Jamie would be thrilled about sharing LOL. Jamie however is in love with Bee I have never seen her more active when she saw me cleaning up his tank for the night. She might like coming out when he’s older.

Also yes he definitely wanted to talk to me about this arrangement.

It's funny how they pick who the like and who they don't.
It was always a huge joy for me seeing how my guys react to someone new also.
It sounds like Bee is already becoming part of the family

The moral to that story is that when you can't find your beardie, the first place you look is back in the hide LOL. A friend of mine had that same problem with a ferret. Welcome to the wonderful world of raising a little one, just in case you forgot how much fun it is. We wanted an adult male for our first one because we were afraid he wouldn't survive our inexperience (learned that lesson with a hatchling snake. He barely made it but we had him for 15 years) And like you, we didn't want a female because we didn't want to deal with egg problems. Black bearding and head bobbing and crazy behavior during mating season was the lesser of the evils. But it turned out that Puff was our first and our last bearded dragon so I'm glad you got Bee to fill up the beardie-shaped hole in your heart.
