can anyone tell me if a beardie in brumation seems to never breath and if they are how can you tell... mine looks dead and i cannot tell if they are dead or brumating... he hasnt eaten for two days and was slightly moody judging from the blackness of his beard. The temp was within normal range... I do not want to bury Homie if he is alive. i tried waking him and he wont wake. He is still pliable when i last checked on him. Tried misting also and enticing with food he likes.
I have heard of dragons brumating at weird times of the year.you can hold his head out of the water to soak him. He can take in water through his vent. I read they don't absorb water through thiet skin and misting is primarily to help shedding. I would take him to a vet to make sure its brumation because I lack experience with brumation. My beardie is 2yrs old and has never brumated before. The soaking to hydrate during brumation I read on this site. I hope he's OK.
