hi fowlcore has been inactive today if i put him near the light he will go under the branches or away from the light. I will have to check later if he is under the branches today since im at school. he will eat though nothing wrong with him eating. he just wont be in the basking light.
he is one month and 21 days old i think he might be 2 months though.
Definitely NOT brumating, that is for sure. What brand & type of UVB are you using and what is the distance of it? Is the UVB right alongside a bright white basking bulb?
What are your tank temps and what type of thermometer are you using? What substrate is on the bottom of the tank?
Is the Repti-Sun you're using a 10.0 bulb and is it a long tube or compact bulb? What is the distance of that bulb to your beardie when in his basking spot?
What type of thermometer are you using? And, what are the temps?
That's good that it's the long tube bulb, the 10.0 and that it's 6" from his basking spot, good job. Sounds like you're using a digital strip thermometer. Unfortunately, those can be off by as much as 20 degrees. What you need to know is the basking SURFACE temp. To get good readings, you need to either use an infrared temperature gun or a digital thermometer with a long wire & probe end. If you'd like me to post a picture of one, let me know.
