I live in Australia and my beardie went into brumation about 5 months ago she continues to sleep, i sometimes get her up to give her a bath or just for her to have a run around and she’s very alert and does normal beardie things, like the up turned tail the licking of things and running, but she won’t eat! I put veggies and woodies in front of her and she’s not interested. Aswell she hardly does it but sometimes when I take her out sometimes she sits there with her mouth open even if it’s cold. But she doesn’t do it if she’s in her vivarium only if she’s basking.
They can definitely brumate for long periods of time. How old is she?
Have you double checked the temperatures in her tank to be sure they are warm enough
for her? Which UVB light do you use?
She’s over 2 years I’m pretty sure. Cool side is 26 degrees Celsius and her warm side is about 33-35. I don’t have the best brand of uvb it’s “reptile one” but don’t have a lot of options where I live, plus it’s the same brand I’ve used for the past 2 years and it’s never been a problem but when I can afford it I’ll get a reptisun. She’s only brumated twice since I’ve had her and this is the longest she ever has but I’m hoping it has something to do with that she started brumating in summer and now coming into winter weather she’s like wth! Ok back to sleep..??
Okay well which one T5 or T8 I think T8 because my uvb is mounted inside the vivarium so I don’t want it to be to Intense. I’ve googled the temps for a bearded dragon and mine seem to be perfect?
