For the past 6 weeks, my beardie has started eating less and less crickets and greens during feedings. This past week, he has nibble on his greens and has refused crickets. He has a bowl movement earlier today and has been napping ever since.
I weighted him last weekend for his usual monthly record, and has lost 20 grams in the past month or so. He still looks plump as usual so I am not too worried.
I also didn't have a parasite test before he started brumating.
How much weight does a beardie usually loose during brumation?
If he is still eating & going to the bathroom at the moment, then you can still get a fecal done even if he is starting to slow down some. That would be a good idea to have that done, to be sure he doesn't have worms or parasites before going down into a full brumation.
It isn't unusual for them to lose up to 50 grams or so during brumation, etc. I wouldn't worry about small weight loss amounts but you definitely don't want him losing hydration or a lot of his fat pads though with excessive weight loss.
How old is he?
Do you have any pictures of him?
