Our little guy, Gobi, is officially brumating. He started slowing down at the end of August. At first I thought he was sick, so I took him to the vet and he came back with a clean bill of health - no parasites! I bought every kind of feeder around but he just gave them all the "beardie side eye" and refused to eat. I kept trying to make him happy and active until I read all the brumation info here. So now, we let him sleep, poor kid. I take him out every few days to bathe (he won't eat) and snuggle (because, selfishly, we miss him!) then back into the viv he goes. I took this picture the other day when he passed out halfway into his cave. I honestly never thought I'd love a lizard like this!!!
Brumation can be very scary at first but rest assured he will come out of it eventually. Too soon to them and WAY to long for us. We are selfish creatures but beardies are just so lovable!! Dang them!
Just try to relax and keep doing what your doing, if he does happen to eat make sure to give him a bath the next day, you don't want old food sitting in his stomach.
