i live in nova scotia and my beardie is 8 months old, he has recently lost his appetite, started hiding a lot more, and doesnt seem to want to move. he also gets ready to sleep almost an hour before his lights go out. is it possible hes brumating? i didn't think he was old enough for that and its march so it seems like an odd time but it seems like he ticks all the boxes for brumation

They usually do not brumate at 8 months old ---- please go over the UVB your using coil or a long tube fixture surface basking temps how are you taking them? No stick ons they are inaccurate and IR guns can be off w/ certain materials being used

Please get two digital probe thermometers -- Zoo Med makes look on Amazon- temp should be 95-100 -- the UVB what brand and bulb -- this will make a difference in placement and distance - the screen on the tank is a fine mesh or a wide hole type --

For a fine mesh screen it needs to be in the tank directly above the basking decor piece 12-15 inches -- please get this adjusted along w/ the surface basking temps then watch his behavior- if it doesnt change we need to maybe explore other options for the behavior but we need to start w/ this first -- how much does your dragon weigh?

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate
I miss you so much, Amaris 💔
What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
