When I first got my very ill rescue dragon, he saw 2 vets in NY who sucked, failed to notice life-threatening problems, and didn't give info that I learned later and could have helped. They both claimed to be qualified with exotics, but I think were much more experienced with mammals and birds. Does anyone know of a decent vet? I live in South Brooklyn and will travel anywhere within 45 min or an hour.
I don't have personal experience with vets in that area unfortunately. Port Jefferson animal hospital has a couple of exotics vets on staff who may be able to help. Might be worth giving them a call to see if they have a lot of experience with dragons. Could be a bit of a hike during rush hour though. http://portjeffersonanimalhospital.com
Hello, I have also been looking for a good reptile specialist in the NYC area, have you found one yet? I live in Queens, NY and also willing to drive about an hour out to see someone who truly specializes in reptiles, let me know if you have found / been to any. Thanks!
