Brick's thread- no more surgery hopefully!

We've had our dragons since the beginning of August and Brick has been at my house for about 2 weeks; it's about time His Highness got his own thread! ;)
For those of you who don't know, my fiance and I got Lady and Brick from his mom's friend's son (or something along those lines) who was moving and couldn't keep them. He gave us the vivs and lighting too, which was awesome! Their setups are great (except for the crushed walnut substrate! It didn't cause any problems but I don't want to risk anything so I switched to shelf liner when Brick moved in with me. Lady is still on walnut because my fiance thinks it's fine. :|), and they were well taken care of. So we got two healthy, happy dragons. They didn't have names, but we fixed that. The female is now Lady Fromage, and the male is Captain Brick Bordeaux (fromage is French for "cheese" and Bordeaux is a type of wine. Get it, wine and cheese? I'm a dork I know :p).

About two weeks ago I finally convinced my dad to let one of the lizards live here (Yep, I'm 26 and I still live at my dad's. For now anyway. ;) I do kind of like it though, since it's good food and cheap rent and sane company, plus my younger sisters are here as well). Anyways. My fiance is already quite attached to the sweet, cuddly, sociable Lady; so I got Brick. He's kind of a grump but I love him all the same. And without further ado, pictures!

Coming to my house! I waited til after lights-out and burrito'd him up, and he slept through the whole car ride and moving process. Sorry about the bits of scale and substrate lol-

Showing a bit of (shedding) sexyleg. I feel bad for moving him during a shed though. All that stress! I totally wasn't thinking. :( Luckily he's handling everything like a champ. :)

And a few pics of him exploring (the walls look extra-bright green in these pics! I definitely didn't paint them or choose that color, haha)

And here is my current favorite picture of him. It was his first bath in the bathtub instead of his shallow rubbermaid container, and at first he acted like I was trying to put him in a tank full of sharks! Of course I had to get a picture ;)

He's still going through a bit of relocation stress, but is doing great overall! And now I have to go make dinner. I'll post more if I think of something, thanks for reading! <3 <3

Reminds me of Jace last night. He usually sleeps on his hammock and was starting to slip off but was too lazy to drag himself back up. When I came home for the movie, he looked really mad and was under his log hide. Don't glare at me, Mister. I wasn't the one too lazy to drag my butt onto the hammock.

Welcome back! :D Sorry to hear of all the chaos. 2013 has not started off well for a lot of people, (I'm one of them too  ) I'm also sorry to hear about George, but I'm very happy over Brick eating :D Send some pics our way, we're over due! :p
Yeah! Seriously, what the heck 2013?!
And agreed! I'm quite thrilled that he's eating :) The extra-awesome news: The aforementioned lump in his mouth, is not cancerous! :D

We had our vet appt today. Brick gave the vet a LOT of attitude and made eyes at the receptionist ladies, typical grouchy lady's man haha. But he looks good besides that weird lump in his mouth. The vet looked at a cell sample under a microscope and said it's not cancerous, most likely just extra skin or a polyp. She didn't seem worried about it, which I take as a good sign! :)
For now I'm just keeping an eye on the lump. So far it hasn't bothered him in the least (knock on wood!). If it starts to change or get bigger or bother him then I'll bring him back for an official biopsy on the lump. If it wasn't so expensive ($110 to send it off to the lab!), I would have had the biopsy done today just out of curiousity. But my wallet and I will hope he doesn't need it, plus the vet said a biopsy would just be for curiousity's sake at this point, since the lump isn't harmful.
YAY! Celebratory wine and brownies for everyone!!

I know what you mean. I need to take Jace and Zy to the vet for their first check up, but don't have the money for it just yet. Will have to call the vet and ask for a price on two fecals and 2 check ups.

Jace is a spoiled rotten brat. He had his hour out and now it is Zy's turn. What does he do? He gives us the stink eye. Zy could care less. He will probably be giving us the butt soon. It always happens, every night.

Lol "the butt"! Brick does that too and I think it's hilarious. Sometimes I even get a sexy leg or two along with the butt (and I promise that wasn't supposed to sound dirty lol ).

And about the vet thing- sometimes you can get a small discount on the exam price if you bring in more than one pet at once. The place I go to gives you $15 off the exam price of each additional critter you bring in with the first one. I know 15 isn't a ton, but it's better than nothing! (especially if you're broke-ish like me ;))

I am very broke so will keep this in mind. My biggest concern is getting a fecal done for Jace, Zy, and Ava. I am told that fecals range anywhere from cheap to free. I am hopping for the latter.

How is Brick?

I hear ya. I do have a teeeensy tiny bit of money at the moment, but I was trying to save for car repairs lol :? (nothing vital, but I'm pretty sure they'll be needed soon). Heaven help my bank account if Brick ends up needing that mouth lump removed.
And Brick is doing well, thanks for asking! :) He's his usual grumpy self. I was worried that he'd be all bent out of shape from the vet visit on Friday, but turns out he couldn't care less lol. Even though it was probably traumatizing when the vet took him in the back (they poked the lump in his mouth to see if there was anything inside and also get a cell sample). He was bearding and squirming and stink eye-ing like crazy when the vet was just trying to look at the lump, I can only imagine what he did when she had to get that sample. And come to think of it, the vet tech who brought him back to me had him wrapped in a towel, held at arms' length... What a grouch. I always feel bad when my pets are naughty patients. Even though I'm sure the vets have all seen much worse!

Anyways though :) I'm house/pet-sitting for a family friend so I should probably get back to that. I hope everyone is having a lovely evening!! <3 <3

Can't be any worse then my cat. On his records at the vet's office they have his behavior (so other vets know what to expect when dealing with him) as terror...

Glad to hear the update on Brick and that the lump isn't cancerous, hopefully he'll not have to get a biopsy, but it will just take time to tell. I know what you mean about not having alot of funds and putting $ away for the car, as you never know what might show up!

Hope you have a great Easter weekend. Come visit my site when you can. Just search Rubio and you'll find it.

Lol at the picture! I'm sorry brick has a bump in his mouth, hopefully it's nothing too serious
Thanks! <3 I'm hoping so too lol. I can't quite tell if it's getting bigger, but it still isn't bothering him. So I shall continue to keep fingers and toes crossed that it stays harmless! ;)

What a sass. Look at the look on his smug little adorable face. "I'm touching a tiny part of these. So clearly they're both ALL MINE." This random claiming of random belongings is a pretty common occurrence lol, and he gets annoyed if I try to move whatever he's just claimed as his.
IMG_4728_zps627040b0.jpg

And he didn't want to get out of the tub after bathtime this evening. Usually he's more than ready to get dried off and go exploring lol. "I don't care if the water is gone, it's warm in here. Gonna sleep now. Go 'way, slave."
IMG_4792_zps9f90de0f.jpg

Trying to get down so he can play with that handsome beardie in the mirror (or attack it? Who knows). Note the very manly pink towel ;)

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
Luna is thriving
