Breeding question?? Recessive leatherbacks

This may seem like a silly question for more experienced breeders, but I was wondering what would happen if you bred two dragons who were het for leatherback. Both dragons have significantly reduced scaling and parents who were leatherbacks but neither are themselves... would any of the babies turn out leatherback, or no? If not, would you mind explaining why? I'm looking to learn
