Momma (Pink) with daughters
Holy cannoli batman! They are beautifulView attachment 94048 View attachment 94050
Momma (Pink) with daughtersNot a single nipped fin in the sorority. Sometimes flaring and chasing over territory occasionally, but mostly between 2 and 3. Mom is in charge, but the large white female has her side of a stick that only Mom can cross. The others stay away / wander in then get chased out. But Violet is my next breeder and looking for her own territory to attract a mate.
We had no idea they even existed till Friday. Now I'm fascinated by themWeeeeeeiiiiirrrddd I actually read an article about them the other day lol title was something like "This fish thrives on chaos and owl poop"
Close, that was sort of a chapter start lol

That was just some from a quick internet search. But they are really very pretty. In person there is little flashes of color as they dart aroundI had actually heard of them earlier when I was looking into all the stuff that pops up in ephemeral pools around there. I read about them but hadn't seen a pic until the article. The pics you posted are better![]()
Pinkie? They are gorgeous, I especially like the one with the orange patch with the blue dot. Very beautiful![]()
So they change color as they age? I did not realize that and missed it if you had mentioned it. I kind of like the idea of not knowing what the final look will be. For me that would keep me interested in watchingbthem grow.Pinkie?
Under the blue mixed light the blues and purples really show on him. The red saddle is a relatively new development and I think is his final pattern. He's a bit older from the first spawn and father of the one with all the white and funky red lightning like pattern. The blue one I'm a little disappointed how he ended up. The royal blue came in very late over the black pattern![]()
Yeah, they don't tend to have their final pattern until 12-18 months. So they change color as they age? I did not realize that and missed it if you had mentioned it. I kind of like the idea of not knowing what the final look will be. For me that would keep me interested in watchingbthem grow.
