Hello,

Please keep us posted on how your dragon is doing. There have been a few cases similar to yours
here but it luckily isn't a real common occurrence. I hope that the spinal cord & other tissue isn't too
damaged yet.
How is his appetite doing?

Hello.

Yesterday we had a vet check-up. We are now trying antibiotic injections for the inflammation of the damaged area. The lump could be malign or benign, we'll have to see how it goes, and whether the antibiotics do anything. Dragon has been himself and full of energy, with a great appetite, until we started the antibiotics which make him the opposite. Third control will be in two weeks.

Yeah the meds can reek havoc on their appetite. None dairy probiotics are recommended alot, but I could never get my guys to eat it so I can't speak from experience how much it helps

Hi, thank you for your comment. I've tried probiotics earlier when my beardies been on antibiotics, and i have a feeling he hates the probiotics even more than the antibiotics. Also, the bacteria they contain are not similar to what beardies have, so i don't know whether they actually help, or possibly make the gut bacteria even more disturbed. Some study on humans suggested that probiotics don't really affect much, you'd have to take them for months to actually gain a small benefit which might be only temporary. Interesting subject, antibiotics really mess up your gut and would be nice if we found a solution to that.

Yeah I agree. I've only ever had to take them personally a couple times in my whole life so I don't have experience with the human probiotics either. But I'm not going to complain and call that a win

You can definitely call it a win if you haven't needed much antibiotics in your life! People consume them way too much.

My guys aways fire up when they are out with us. Once they bond with us they like being with us.

They sure do. Just funny to see a pitch black beard with some orange spots. Like very mad but slightly happy.

Some progression can be seen, my beardie can move his tail pretty well again. Very interesting to see where this is going. Antibiotics still reduce his appetite, but he is energetic and seems to be even gaining muscles. His walking has been a bit wobbly for years, but now he seems to be walking better little by little, and even climbing things with no problem. He seems to get younger every day.

Thank you for your compassion, it means alot.

It also seems to me the lump on his tail is getting a tiny bit smaller, but this might me just me wanting to see it get smaller.

Hello,

That is great to hear his tail seems to be doing better & that he is moving it easier now also. I hope it's healing up finally. They do heal up slowly but keep up the great work!
