When I was bathing my beardie, Stryker :love5: , today, he closed his eyes for a moment and it looked like he had light blue bags under both his eyes. Is this normal?
He is a year and 3 months old. I thought I had all the correct lighting :study:, although I was thinking his Reptisun 10.0, which I bought last September, might be due for a change. He currently has a 60 watt regular old fashioned household bulb as a heat/basking source. I just noticed this last night. He used to have 100 watt (My husband replaced the one that burned out). Maybe THIS is why he isn't eating all his food everyday? Otherwise he seems ok. Stryker is in a 40 gallon tank, yet seldom strays from his basking area. (And no, I don't know the temps. Have yet to buy a temp gun! ) Anybody have any ideas or suggestions?
So you don't know what his temps are at all???? You need to either order on online or go to a petstore and buy a digital thermometer at least...they are like.. what..$8??
Temps are so very important!!!
I agree with kcarello. An accurate thermometer is crucial to proper dragon husbandry.
Their lower eyelids are a bluish color. It's probably okay. If you are still concerned, you can post a picture to give us a better idea.
I did have cheap thermometers stuck on the tank in the beginning, but Stryker kept knocking them off cause they were low towards his basking and cool zone (which he never goes to). Then my ADHD granddaughter got a hold of them and broke the dials. That's why I want a temp gun so I can just point it at the spot and I'll have the temp gun in my possession, but honestly, it slipped my mind lately.
