Beardie name(s)
Hiccup he is 6 and Blaze is 4
His beard is always a darkish color Even as a baby.
Part of the morph?
No its black -- which is a sign of distress or pain -- breeding season will cause that as well - improper lighting and basking temps -- how old is the UVB bulb? And what is it a T 8 or a T 5 and the brand please -- how are you getting basking temps I dont see any gauges in the tank

😆m the black beard maybe a reaction to the bandaid-----------please get your dragon a hide and more decor in the tank --- check out PetSmart they have great decor
Reptisun T5 10uvb. 4 months old.
I use a lazer thermometer to check temps. I’ve had 4 other beardies. He’s the only one with a beard color that’s dark grey to black (when he’s temporarily upset).

Ok and it looks like good distance-- you want it 12-15 inches- when you take the bandage off l would leave it off and see if the black beard goes away or subsides- he may be in pain - but to determine that let's try leaving it off- please invest in 2 digital probe thermometers you want actual basking surface temps- one for your cool side one for the basking side - place probe on the spot he sits for basking wait 10 min get temp 95-100- you don't need to leave it there - spit check about once a week - heat bulbs do lose their strength- they are more accurate than IR guns especially on hammocks- if Yu out decide on getting a hammock please get a cloth or fleece one the green mesh and vine ones tend to cause more injury-

Hello,

He is most likely annoyed with having a bandaid! Raw unpasteurized honey is very good for helping with
infection, or manuka honey, too.
That is good you finally got the bleeding stopped now.
Is his beard always dark?

Just came home and more blood. Glad the bandage stayed on.
Cleaned area and put paper towel under bandaid.
Unable to see exactly where the blood originated.

This morning more blood. Took Rocky to the vet. Seems his nails were too long and he inadvertently scratched a toe.

Did you say his foot got that bloody with the bandaid still on it ? There have been cases on here where the beardie kept biting it's own foot, I hope that's not happening here. Is there any way you can set up a cam to see what's happening ?

No. I put the bandaid to stop the bleeding. According to the vet, he scratched his toe with one of his nails that were too long.
He’s not a happy camper being on a suphur antibiotic.

Rocky’s getting Bene Bac (probiotic) and then 15 mins later Trimethoprim / Sulfamethoxazole. He’s not interested in eating and seems depressed.
The antibiotic is the reason for these side effects.

I know you're worried about your boy, poor Rocky he doesn't like the meds. or understand what's going on. My guess is that at some point he snagged his nail originally , possibly jumping around up to the vent or something. Then after you wrapped his foot he bit the dangling toes because those aren't scratches. It's not uncommon for them to bite a toe or entire foot when it's irritating them, you can type it in here + search and you'll probably come up with some of those experiences here on this forum.

I just walked into my room and instead of looking at me, Swordtail's eyes darted directly to the ice cream drumstick I'm holding
Finally replaced Swordtail's substrate

What is a quick way to warm up a cold beardie? His heating element went out overnight and now he's very cold.
