Only O.K if she lays close enough for the uvb to reach her. Ideally the heat bulbs should be lined up next to or in between the uvb bulbs. You want her pretty much directly under the uvb at least for part of the day.
Ok so i have a concern/question. So Xero poops everyday at least once. Today he received his last dose for pinworm (hopefully). He was medicated at 8 in the morning. I fed him 5 dubias around 1030-1100. He pooped normally shortly after. It was watery more than usual and came out with a little force. Didnt shoot out but had a lil force. Ok cool he pooped. About 2 hours went by and i saw he was going for another poop. Only a little liquid came out and i saw some poop coming out but looked like it was too big so nothing came out. I thought maybe he had stage fright cause i was watching him right next to his enclosure. He did it again a few hours later when i let him run around on my bed. So i soaked him in warm water and rubbed his belly to help him release but he didnt go. Can he be impacted or constipated even though hes pooping everyday? Or maybe the big dubia he ate a few weeks ago is finally coming out which is causing his bloat? Before i typed this his enlarged his beard and inflated and kept wiggling like he was trying to push. So i took him out rubbed his belly and put him on my bed cause he likes to poop there. When should i be concerned or will he eventually pass whatever he cant get out of again he poops everyday. So im confused

Yeah, he will eventually pass it. You can offer some canned pumpkin and even a drop of honey if you have it and just be patient.

How big were they ?
They were too big for him. I asked the dude at the pet store are you sure they are ok and he nodded with so much confidence. Boy was he wrong. I had to cut them in half once i saw him struggle with one. They next day i gave them to my brothers nile monitor. Went down to the baby dubias. He loves those lol. I feel bad :(

My boy can take these down but he had to stop mid chew to breath. I dont go to that reptile store anymore for his dubias.

Any time the bugs are too large it can back the dragon up for a while but with proper basking temps, less food for a while and some canned pumkin as well as a short, warmer than usual soak they eventually go. Letting him run around in a warm room can help too.

Yes sure, a day of greens is fine. Try to get him to drink a little too if possible but if not the greens will help with hydration.
Thanks, your alot of help and put my mind at ease. Have you fed your dragons wheat grass? Im thinking of growing some so he can crawl through it and nibble

You're welcome ! No I've never fed them wheat grass. Mostly store bought greens and things that grow in my yard [ no chances of chemicals applied on any lawn nearby ] From my yard I use clover leaf, dandelion leaf and flower, forsythia blooms in the spring, mulberry leaves from my tree in the spring, summer, fall. Some edible flowers as well .

Hello,

How is your dragon doing?
They were a bit large for him, but as suggested, try giving some extra oral fluids for a few days along
with a greens slurry. You can add some canned pumpkin for some bulk & fiber to help with passing
things through. I have used organic wheat grass before, it is a healthy green they can have.

Let us know how things are going.

Hes still bloaty and im tryingbto understand why or maybe hes not im just confused. I significantly feed him less ive read it can also be due to respiratory infection ? But the vet said she’s pretty sure its not that. He didnt feel too good today maybe its from the pinworm medicine he had on Monday and putting him in his new enclosure. He didnt wanna eat any greens today either. He did poop today and it wasnt stinky(they always stink) so the meds are probably working? I soaked him also and he let out a lil urate and a speck of poo. Hopefully he feels better in the morning.

Hey! I'm planning on ordering a 4x2x2 for my next beardie but I'm worried about lighting. I have a UVA and a UVB but they are small (the UVA just being a bulb and the UVB being 12 ish inches?) My house is drafty so I need a strong light that puts off quite a good amount of heat, any suggestions?
cookie event at my library today, quite fun! Made some bracelets for my comrades too, to give them at church in the morning. Got a busy day tomorrow even though I’m off work… i go back on tuesday so atleast I’ll have 2 days off to rewind….then back to hell lol
