What are the dimensions of the tank ? You did a nice job on it ! The t8 can be mounted inside if need be. And yes since your house gets so cold at night it's good to have the heat at night. Are you in an apartment or have a house ?
Its a 4x2x2. Thank you! I wish i did Better lol. Is there basking bulbs that give off UVB? Im in a house. Its 94 years old. When it was built they didnt put insulation in the walls -_-

There are , MVB [ mercury vapor bulbs ] They can be O.K but the long tubes have better uvb coverage.
Hey, an old house in San Diego is better than many houses in a lot of other cities/states ! Do you have a yard as well ? I ask because it's nice to have an outdoor cage if the area is adequate for it.

Yes that's my boy Tigger, he's almost 13. I have a larger outdoor cage too, I'll have to find the pic and post it later. I hatched + raised lots of babies years ago, here's a pic of some of them out in their kiddie b.d. pool. I started taking them out around 2 weeks old.

May have messed up the reply threads lol. I bought a t5. Idk if they make the length of the t8. I have the t8 dead center but i can turn it off/on. Would that be too much?

Nothing over the baby's pool, just me watching like a hawk. :) I could have made something but never needed it. I also have a 6 foot privacy fence to keep critters out of my yard. I never lost a baby.

So it would be better to have the t5 closer to the middle and also put your heat bulbs [ are there 2 heat bulbs in that hood ? ] along side them rather than backed way up on the left side.

i put the t5 in the center but i dont feel it was bright enough. So left the t8 in the center to light up the enclosure and possibly give uvb throughout the right side. At the moment i have a zoomed 125w basking bulb but when hes ready to move ill put his 100 w heat projector in the other one for nights.

Yes since the t5 is the one giving the proper amount of uvb. The addition of the t8 lights is fine to add additional light without too much more uvb actually reaching most parts of the tank. And then the heat lamps being close to the uvb, when they bask they need heat + uvb at the same time.

Only O.K if she lays close enough for the uvb to reach her. Ideally the heat bulbs should be lined up next to or in between the uvb bulbs. You want her pretty much directly under the uvb at least for part of the day.

a poem by AHBD (THANK YOU SO MUCH! I LOVE IT!)

Sir Henry the dragon
Looking for his dragon girl
Ventures out in to the wide world
His hopes are up but as you can see
There is no dragon girl for Sir Henry
A light bulb goes off and he takes mom aside
Could you perchance get me a mail order bride ?

Hey! We’re the same age! That’s cool!
Hi there a little update we went from a 50 watt heat lamp to a 100 watt basking halogen heat lamp hahaha I saw some comments about it being so close so I made sure to put it a ruler away from her
Has anyone seen this before? Something in the corner of his mouth
