Yay! Hes so cute i just wanna eat him sometimesThat's good, it's a sign that he's motivated to move more and he'll likely feel better all around.
Update on Xero. His fecal results came back. He has pin worms and coccidia. They gave him the first pinworm treatment today, which idk what its called. They took him to the back to give him that one. For the coccidia they showed me how to give ponazuril to him orally. So every other day for that one for 4 days then wait two weeks and give him another 4 doses every other day. Once hes done with treatment he’ll get tested again and see if they went away. I removed all the sand and baked all his logs/sticks and disinfected the enclosure top to bottom. Hopefully hell do ok with the meds. They said once the parasites start dying or what not hell be more active and lose the bloat which they say its most likely from that. Poor guy had a day todayHi there, can you post a few pics of Xero and his enclosure ? What does he eat and how much ? No one here will say anything about sand although sometimes the calcium type sand is eaten by beardies and might cause a problem under certain conditons.
Idk probably ill call tomorrow and ask. Idk if he’s curious about the sand being gone but hes running and jumping all over which makes me happyGood to get the parasites taken care of ! Was it Panacur [ fenbendazole ] given for the pinworms ? Parasites can cause a little bloating but usually not to that degree and often do the opposite, even causing weight loss. So the huge feedings were playing a part in the chubbiness, hopefully between the reduced feedings and the meds. Xero will be feeling better ASAP.
Maybe lolOr maybe he knows that you're writing about him on a public forum and he's trying to shape up right quick !![]()
Question. So today hes not running around alot he’s mostly just basking. He will eat his dubias but wont touch his greens anymore. I tried bee pollen but doesnt seem interested. He seems a lil aggravated today is that normal with him on the meds. Should they make him feel a little off? He seems to be active when i let him run on my bed and climb to the window. He seems to like it.Hello,
True, it's great to get his system balanced out. So if he
has higher than normal levels of pinworms & coccidia the meds should be fine to help bring them down. Did the vet dose the Ponazuril out for you to give to him?
Depending on the levels, you can treat just one ailment & get the levels down while the levels of the other should reduce naturally.
I agree, the mealworms likely caused intestinal distress
if he ate too many that he couldn't digest well.
Let us know how he is doing.

Ok thank you for the information. Whats your take on nutribac? The whole experience he's going through can stress him a bit and affect his behavior so it's not unusual.
As for an electrolyte soak it's no benefit unless he drinks some. They don't absorb it through their skin or their vent [ rear end ] I'd never spend money on it. If he drinks some it might help but there's no way to know the amount that can make any difference.

hi tracie. Whats ur take on nutribac? Would it be beneficial for him while on meds? Ive cut back on the number of dubias and feedings but ive noticed his dragon droppings are small now. Would it be due to the meds or less food or maybe both?Hello,
