Hey all, haven't been on in a while. But I have some cause for concern. Ju is around 10 months now. As of late, two black patches have showed up around his eye and modem one looks like it has a cement shape groove to it. His lips are also very pinkish from being chapped or dry. We've dabbed aquaphor (very little) on all the places. His lips seem better, the spots are still there. It doesn't seem like scale rot but it's hard to tell. I don't think he's been his usual self but my husband disagrees. He's still eating like a piggy and has had a bm within the day. I'm really worried here and don't know what's causing this.
I do see that discoloration. He does look like that area is going to shed though which would explain why the mouth & lips are pinkish in color. How long has it been darker in color like this?
It is a slight possibility of fungal issues. Though it really doesn't look much like fungus. Are there any other areas on his body that look like this?
Ju is a cute name for him, too. He is a nice looking dragon!
He is eating well also?

It's been that way for about a month or so. Hes gone through little sheds here and there but nothing major yet (mostly facial sheds). We have been power feeding him worms lately so his weight matches his length, or at least close to it. Nope, just those few spots on his head and his lips being pink/chapped. Yes he's still eating like a little piggy. He can manage 4-5 hornworms if We let him. Thank you, We think head partial hypo and German giant given the length.
If you are concerned about possible fungal issues, you can try some anti-fungal cream on the darker areas & keep the humidity to under 30% or so.
The mouth & lips look like a normal shed coming on though.
It sounds like he has been eating pretty well also!
His nostrils look a bit off too, like they are going to shed. Sometimes areas tend to get darker in certain spots before shedding, too.
