Over the weekend I noticed 3 or 4 bright red dots under Mango's beard then, a few hours later they were gone. I couldn't find them on his body anywhere but my assumption is that they were mites and have migrated under his scales somewhere. 
Would there be any other explanation or does this sound like mites to you too?
Right now he's shedding though (and at the rate he's going I may be old and gray before he
finishes :roll: ) and I'm wondering how safe the betadine bath would be at this point. Any idea?
As a side note, how the heck could he have gotten mites in the first place? I've had him 3 yrs. and he came from a reputable breeder. His substrate has always been tile and he has never even been around another bearded dragon.
