Hello I'm shopping around for a new UVB light for my bearded dragon I've come across this "Exo Terra Repti-Glo 10.0 Compact Fluorescent Desert Terrarium Lamp" and it comes in 13 or 26 watt which is best to buy? I'm in FL so temp is usually 80s-90s in the 55 gal tank.. Thank you
i have my dragon in a 40gallon breeder tank i need to change my uvb light it been 6 months old so it time to replace right now i have a reptilesun 10.0 a 24" so i was
wondering if the ArcadiaD3+Reptilelamp t8 is a good one please let me know soon i am going to order it today if it a good one
The Arcadia is a good bulb, but it won't fit in the fixture you had the reptisun in so you would have to get a new fixture. The reptisuns a t8 bulb and Arcadia is t5, so the diamete is smaller, and I believe you need a high output fixture because the arcadias watts are too much for a regular t5 fixture. I think it would be best to get another reptisun and save the trouble. Can't go wrong with a reptisun
Thank you can anyone tell me whats the difference between the watts? Is it better to get higher wattage or lower wattage if the bulb isn't going to be far from the dragon
The watts depend on what inch fixture you have. An 18" reptisun is a lower watt then a 24", so on and so fourth. As long as the fixture can hold the wattage, its fine.
just get whatever size covers at least have of you tank, preferably 2/3 but its not necessary.
I use a 18" in a 36" tank and a 24" in a 48" tank.
