K kyleena29 Sub-Adult Member Sep 9, 2017 #2 Honestly I would have both but either one will work fine. The gun would allow you to check other areas easier than moving the digital around and waiting. But if you want to keep a constant check like leaving it at one spot then the digital is better than using the gun every time. I keep a digital with probe on the basking spot and one like your link on the cool side. I also keep the gun to double check. So I actually use 3 types.
