Hi, I hate not finding exactly what I'm looking for. Most the time I feel like ive missed something. But, Is this normal?
She is eating fine and very alert and pooping. But I changed from rocks to this wood hide/ basking spot for her. It is 79 in the hide and it was 104 on top. I have cooled the top by moving the light higher from her and is now 89.4. But she moved when I put the thermometer nest to her to check the temp. Anyway here is the pic is this from stress or just trying to soak up some heat?
Thanks in advance Im so paranoid after losing my last dragon.
Well they're sure stress marks..
Unfortunately I'm having the same problem with mine, whatever I do the only time they go away is when he's sleeping, hopefully someone can shed some light for you!
Funny thing is she loves to be held. She doesnt run. I did just get her Saturday. So maybe she is just getting used to my ugly mug. LOL
Hope we do get some info that puts our minds at ease.
Why did you lower the temp? 104 is pretty perfect as a basking temp for a young dragon. She could be stressed, especially given you've only had her a couple of days, but if the temp is only 90 degrees, that's not hot enough for her to digest her food, so chances are the marks are from being too cold. Put the light back where it was, give her a few days to settle in properly, and see how her marks look then.
Ill try that. But when she had the markings it was at 104. she moved to the lower area and they went away. Then I raised the temp back to 104 and she has since returned. The breeder I got her from said they keep them in the 90's so thats why I thought to lower it (shes about 4.5 months old). But ill leave it at 104and see how she does in a few days. Thanks for the reply!!
