I have had Beast for 10 months. He is a rescue, and since I have gotten him he has been difficult. He does not eat often, and has to be forced. He has been to the vet several times. I have Critical Care, Carnivore Care, Jump-Start, and Acidophiluz. I also have several kinds of baby food. Is there anything that I can give him to settle down his tummy? He has not thrown up in the past, except when I have over fed him, or he has drank to much water from his bath. Right now he is throwing up every time I give him anything. Even if I just give him a few drops of Acidophiluz. His temps are right, his lights are new, he has a CHE and is on slate in a 72 gallon viv. Does anyone have any ideas? I fear he is close to death. He is listless, and not interested in much. He does still fight with all his might when I feed him, but other than that is laying on his hammock or somewhere in his viv. He is not hiding and that is a little odd, normally after I force him to eat he goes finds a corner to sulk in. He has been getting more than his normal baths, because he is dehydrated, and is looking awful.
On a side note, last night his seminal plugs came out? Could that have upset his tummy?
Please ANY ideas are appreciated.
I am fairly sure this is it for Beast. Just went in to give him his second bath for today and in the bath he spit up some blood. He is gasping and squirming, at about 3 min intervals. Is there anything I can do to relieve his pain?
I wish I could help you find a way to help him. If he was mine, I'd just hold him and try to make him as comfortable as possible. I'm so sorry you both are going through this.
Thank you. I am fairly sure he has passed. I have him in the living room with me setting on my end table, just to make sure that there is no movement from him. I do not see him breathing and he has not gasped again in over an hour.
Thank you Tipsy, He is gone for sure. I appreciate the suggestion, because now I know there is nothing else I can do except honor him properly. So I will make arrangements in the morning. I do appreciate every ones help over the past 10 months that I have had him. Because of Beast I came to this forum, but I have learned so much for care for all my dragons, that he was a gift to me to know how to properly provide for them dragons. He is the 3rd pet I have lost in 90 days, so I hope to get a break for a while. The good thing is I currently have no more sick animals that I am nursing. Thanks again,
Wanda
Hi Wanda, I'm so sorry that it ended up this way. I know it must have broke your heart to see him in that condition. You really tried helping poor Beast, so my heart goes out to you.
